Armed robbery at Bradford petrol station

A security officer has been injured in an armed robbery at a Bradford petrol station forecourt.

Three men, one of whom was armed, approached two security officers at the Leeds Road forecourt at about 0600 BST, police said.

They stole cash boxes containing a "substantial" amount of money before making off in a car.

One of the security officers suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.

West Yorkshire Police said the three men left Leeds Road in a dark Saab estate which was driven by a fourth man.

The car was later recovered from Upper Seymour Street.

Armed officers were sent to the scene and inquiries are continuing.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw the robbery or the Saab on Upper Seymour Street to contact them.
