Police name man killed in collapsed trench in Bradford

Police have named a man who died after being trapped for several hours in a collapsed trench in Bradford.

Andrew Lancaster was buried under rubble when the trench caved in on Bingley Road in Heaton on Monday.

The 23-year-old, from the Calverley area, is believed to have been part of a team of contractors on the site.

Emergency crews worked for several hours to try to rescue him. Police and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating.
