Police start test purchase operation in West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire Police are urging licensees to be extra vigilant, as they begin a test purchasing operation to tackle under-age drinking.

Over the next few weeks officers will be accompanying youths under 18 as they try to buy alcohol from bars and off licences in the county.

Any business caught selling drink to them will be given a fine.

The force said they hoped licensees would work with them and be extra cautious in the weeks ahead.
