The partner of a woman whose body was found in a suitcase at her West Yorkshire house is being questioned.

The body of Marie Stewart was found in the garage of the house in Perseverance Place, Holmfirth, on Sunday night.

Police had been called in by relatives concerned they had not seen the 30-year-old mother of two since Christmas.

She died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma and her 28-year-old partner, music teacher Andrew Lindo, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detectives are understood to be investigating reports that Mr Lindo and their two young children were living in the property throughout the time she was missing.

A 29-year-old woman was also arrested at the house in connection with the death, but later released without charge.

Detectives have been given permission by magistrates to continue holding Mr Lindo.

Forensic teams have been conducting a detailed examination of the newly-built rented townhouse, which is on an estate between the villages of Holmfirth and Holmbridge.
