Van explosion in Leeds residential area

Emergency services were called to reports of an explosion involving a van in a residential area of Leeds.

Police received a number of reports of a van on fire in Alwoodley at about 1805 GMT.

Several roads in the area including Nursery Lane, King Lane and Harrogate Road in Moortown were closed.

There were no reports of casualties, police confirmed. Officers said the explosion was believed to be an isolated incident.
