Lightning disrupted trains in Bristol resume service

Train services in Bristol which were disrupted after lightning caused damage to railway equipment are running normally again.

The damage was caused between Bristol Temple Meads and Severn Beach stations and some passengers experienced short notice cancellations from 1700 BST.

Replacement road transport was offered between the two stations while engineers worked to restore services.

First Great Western said normal service resumed at about 1800 BST.
