Taxi windscreen smashed by masonry thrown from bridge

A taxi driver's windscreen has been smashed by masonry thrown from a bridge on the Keynsham bypass.

Police said the driver, who was travelling at nearly 60mph, managed to keep control of his cab, but was shaken by the incident.

Officers appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 1040 BST on Thursday, to come forward.

The incident happened near the Co-operative supermarket and Broadmoor Lane junction.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said the taxi driver saw two young boys running over the bridge.
