Pensioner, 82, hit by car at bus shelter in Bristol

An 82-year-old man was seriously injured when he was hit by a car while waiting at a bus stop in Bristol.

Police said two cars collided on Redcliffe Hill, left the road and crashed into the bus shelter.

The pensioner was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary where his injuries were described as life threatening.

An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision, which happened at about 1145 BST on Saturday.
