Appeal after Wiltshire man hit by lorry near Bristol

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Wiltshire man was hit by a lorry on the M4 near Bristol and died.

Avon and Somerset police said the 52-year-old had stopped his car on the hard shoulder between junctions 18 and 19 westbound on 30 July.

He got out of his car and was hit by a lorry travelling in the inside lane. The man died of his injuries at Frenchay Hospital on Saturday.

Anyone who was on the motorway at 1620 BST on Saturday should contact police.
