Three men arrested in connection with a house burglary in Bristol have now been held on suspicion of manslaughter after the occupant died.

Pauline Reddick, 80, was taken to hospital feeling unwell after the incident at her home in Newcombe Road, Stoke Bishop, on Tuesday.

She died shortly afterwards and post-mortem tests are being carried out to determine the cause of her death.

Police said there was no indication she was assaulted in Tuesday's burglary.

Insp Mark Runacres said: "This is sad and tragic incident and our condolences go out to Mrs Reddick's family at this difficult time.

"Investigations are very much ongoing and three men remain in custody. At this point I would like to stress that there is no indication of a physical assault taking place."

Avon and Somerset Police officers said they wanted to hear from anyone who may have been in Newcombe Road at the time of this incident, or anyone who may have heard anything suspicious around 0330 BST on Tuesday.
