The body of the former Bishop of Clifton has been received at Clifton cathedral in Bristol.
The Right Reverend Mervyn Alexander died on 14 August at St Angela's Home in the city.
The 85-year-old, who was the eighth Bishop of Clifton, held the position between 1974 and 2001.
A requiem mass, conducted by his successor Bishop Declan Lang, will be held at the cathedral ahead of the funeral on Tuesday.
