Bristol crack house closure order granted

A drugs den that caused misery for people living in the Fishponds area of Bristol has been closed.

Following continuing complaints of noise and drug litter, police and the Safer Bristol Partnership applied for the crack house closure order.

Magistrates agreed the house on Wharf Road should be closed.

A police spokesman said it meant the resident has been evicted and the housing company has boarded the property up.

Neighbourhood beat manager Pc Craig Bennett said the occupant had caused months of misery through his class A drugs use.

"Many have complained of noise at night, drugs litter in their gardens, as well as evidence of drugs use in the communal hallway," he added.

"I know the removal of this resident will have an immediate impact on the quality of life of people."
