Bike stolen from 'Good Samaritan' in Bristol

A woman had her bicycle stolen when she came to the aid of a man who was having a seizure by the side of the road.

Avon and Somerset Police said she stopped to help him on Wells Road in Bristol on Friday morning.

A force spokesman described the theft of the woman's black Carrera mountain bike as a heartless act which took advantage of the woman's compassion.

He said the man's seizure was believed to have been genuine. Officers are appealing for witnesses.

Pc Gareth Davies said: "The victim had stopped to help a man in need and someone has taken advantage of her compassion to steal her bike.

"This was a heartless act and we will do everything we can to identify the person responsible and make them face the consequences of their actions."
