Woman sexually assaulted in Bristol city centre

A woman has been sexually assaulted on wasteland in Bristol city centre, prompting a police investigation.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokeswoman said the attack had happened at about 0400 GMT in the Marsh Street area, near the junction with Baldwin Street.
She said while the assault had been happening, people had gone to help the victim. The attacker ran off.
The spokeswoman appealed for witnesses to contact the force or call Crimestoppers anonymously.
