Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in the Easton area of Bristol.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokeswoman said officers were called to Walker Close at about 0030 BST on Friday.

She said the victim, aged in his 30s, suffered a serious chest injury and could not be resuscitated.

Nearby Croydon Street has been closed in both directions between the B4465 Easton Road and the A420 Lawrence Hill.

Supt Ian Wylie said: "I would like to stress that this is very much a tragic and isolated incident and is not being linked to any other crime in the area."
