A historic building on Cheltenham Road in Bristol has been put up for sale for £350,000.

The Grade-II listed building, which was once a cinema, became known as the Metropolis when Jester's Comedy Club leased it in 2008.

Jesters then rebranded as Riproar Comedy and moved to The Cresswell Centre in College Square in October.

The building is being marketed by ETP Property Consultants, which is acting on behalf of receivers.

The venue also hosted live music and cabaret before its closure.

Comedians who have performed at Jesters include Justin Lee Collins, Russell Brand and Matt Lucas.

An ETP spokesman said there had been "quite a good level of interest", and that an offer had already been turned down.
