Man killed in Bath boat fire was Steven Phelps from Swindon

A man who died in a fire on board a boat in Bath has been named by police.

Steven Phelps, 42, from Stratton St Margaret in Swindon, was killed in the fire which broke out on a cabin cruiser moored close to Pulteney Bridge in the early hours of 15 April.

A 30-year-old man from Swindon was badly burned in the incident.

An inquest at Flax Bourton Coroner's Court has been opened and adjourned. The cause of death is still uncertain and toxicology tests are under way.
