Keynsham meeting to discuss £50m Cadbury site plans
People living near the former Cadbury factory at Keynsham are to be given the chance to have their say on development plans for the site.
Keynsham Town Council is holding a special meeting later to look at Taylor Wimpey's proposals for homes, a primary school, a care home and offices.
Under the £50m plans the Fry club and social club may be rebuilt but the existing sports facilities will remain.
The Somerdale factory closed in January 2011 with the loss of 600 jobs.
"It's important that this is right for the town and its future," said chair of Keynsham Town Council Gill Hellier.
"There's already lots of redevelopment in the town so this has got to be joined up to High Street. We don't want two separate towns."
A final decision on the application by Bath and North East Somerset Council is due in August.
