Girl, aged two, dies after falling from Bristol flat

A two-year-old girl has died after falling from a block of flats in Bristol.

The child fell from the fourth floor of Polden House in Windmill Hill at about 07:00 BST on Monday.

She was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital for treatment, but was later pronounced dead.

A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Police said the girl's death is not being treated as suspicious and the case had been referred to the coroner.

Bristol City Council, which owns the block of flats, has begun an investigation into the tragedy.
