A woman from Bristol has died following a snowmobile crash in Canada.

Charlotte Mei Ling Lee, 31, was on holiday in Quebec with her boyfriend, Domynique Tamaire, and his family when the incident happened on 4 January.

Ms Lee's family, some of whom had been at her bedside while she was on a life support machine, said it had been a "truly terrible week".

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said they were aware of the incident and providing consular assistance.

More than £12,000 has been donated to the family through a fundraising website to help cover costs.

In a message posted online, the family said the care and support received had been "a huge comfort".

They said Ms Lee was a "kind, gentle and loving person" who meant a lot to many people.
