Bristol house body find death 'unexplained'

The death of a man whose body was found at a house in Bristol is being treated as unexplained by police.

Officers made the discovery on Sunday afternoon when they were called to Welsford Avenue in Stapleton.

The 49-year-old man, who has not been named, is believed to have been the victim of an assault. Police said the property may also have been burgled.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place later and a forensic search of the property is being carried out.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said they would like to speak to anyone who may have seen four men wearing hooded tops in the area during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
