Clifton Down's body find: death 'not suspicious'

A man whose body was found on part of Clifton Downs died of natural causes, a post-mortem examination has revealed.

Officers were called after the body was discovered on Sunday morning.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman it was not treating the death as suspicious and detectives are preparing a report for the coroner.

"Formal identification has not yet taken place but his next of kin have been informed of his death," the force spokesman said.

Road closures in the Ladies Mile area are expected to be lifted on Monday afternoon.
