Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man found with head injuries in South Gloucestershire.

Jason Betts, 38, was found unconscious at his flat in Celestine Road, Yate, on 5 March and died later in hospital.

Nixon Apire, 30, from Great North Road, Barnet, London and Nathan Skeen, 28, of Ermine Road, Lewisham, London, are both accused of killing him, police said.

They appeared at North Avon Magistrates' Court earlier and were remanded in custody.

They are next due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 16 March.

A 37-year-old man, previously arrested in connection with the investigation, has been released from his bail without charge, police added.
