Council rejects some Huntingdonshire traveller views

More than 100 comments made in a consultation over traveller site plans in Cambridgeshire have been rejected.

Huntingdonshire District Council was looking for residents' views on plans to put sites on public land, major development areas or on private land.

The consultation finished on Friday with more than 3000 comments from members of the public submitted.

But 150 have had to be rejected because they were "unsuitable" a council spokesman said.

The council extended the consultation deadline because of high levels of public interest.

The information will be used to decide where the pitches should go.

The council must provide an extra 46 permanent pitches and about 10 transit pitches by 2021.
