Motorist dies in crash with tree at Willingham

A motorist has been killed as their car veered off a road and hit a tree in Cambridgeshire.

The accident happened in the early hours of the morning on the B1050 Earith Road, near Willingham, between Cambridge and Chatteris.

Emergency crews attended the scene but the motorist, who had serious injuries, died later.

The road was closed just after 0200 BST and remains shut while police carry out investigations into the crash.
