Eight arrests in new police raids in Cambridge

Eight more people have been arrested in Cambridge as part of a crackdown on burglary, theft and cycle crime.

Police raided homes across the city on Friday and arrested seven teenagers and a 26-year-old man. These bring the total arrests this week to 33.

Twenty-eight have been charged, 22 of whom have been remanded into custody by the courts, a police spokesman said.

Det Insp Andy Gipp, of Cambridgeshire Police, said the operation had been a "successful week".
