Fatal crash in Cambridge causes traffic disruption

A 43-year-old man has been killed in a car crash in Cambridge which caused gridlock in surrounding roads.

The accident happened on Thursday during the afternoon rush hour on Milton Road near the Science Park.

Police said three vehicles collided, closing Milton Road and causing tailbacks onto the A14, and heavy congestion on roads in the area.

The air ambulance went to the scene, but Steven Nicholas Upshaw, of Fordham Road, Soham, died of his injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
