Cambridgeshire park and ride site awarded £430,000
Government funding of £430,000 has been awarded for a passenger and exhibition building at a park and ride site in Cambridgeshire.
The new building at Longstanton will show displays of low carbon living and environmentally-friendly initiatives.
Work on the site will begin next year and contractors believe construction will take about six months to complete.
The centre aims to set a benchmark for low carbon properties on the proposed new town of Northstowe.
Funding for the building has been awarded to Cambridgeshire County Council following a bid in partnership with Cambridgeshire Horizons and South Cambridgeshire District Council.
Roy Pegram, cabinet member for growth, infrastructure and strategic planning, said: "The building will be an asset for passengers on the busway
"Local communities will also learn more about low carbon construction and renewable energy and it will set a benchmark for what can be achieved in Northstowe."
