Cyclists warned of busway checks in Cambridgeshire

People who have been using an unopened busway in Cambridgeshire as a path or cycle lane have been warned that buses will run on the route this week.

The contractor of the busway between Cambridge and St Ives needs to check traffic signals along the route.

The signals give priority to buses at road junctions and are triggered by sensors.

Cambridgeshire County Council said cyclists and walkers should keep off the track on Thursday.

Warning signs will be placed near junctions along the track.

Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists using roads that the busway crosses should also be aware and obey traffic signals, the council added.
