A college site in Cambridgeshire is set to get a £13m investment to create a new engineering block and a county council building.
The project at the College of West Anglia in Wisbech has already received £1.5m from Fenland District Council.
Cambridgeshire County Council said it had agreed the first steps in a package to invest £11.5m.
It added the proposals would create major benefits for the community and improve job prospects.
The council building will bring together the county council and partner services which are currently based in a number of buildings in Wisbech.
The college had planned to move to March but funding from the Learning and Skills Council was withdrawn.
It had to look at ways to cope with its existing buildings and the multi-million pound investment in the new engineering block recognises "the importance of investing in engineering skills and training", the county council said.
