Car driver dies in crash on A15 in Cambridgeshire

A car driver has died and a lorry driver injured in an accident on a bypass in Cambridgeshire.

The crash happened just before midday on Monday on the A15 near Werrington north of Peterborough city centre.

The car was travelling north and was believed to have been overtaking a line of traffic, a police spokesman said.

It collided with one of two lorries travelling south. One of the lorry drivers was taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released.

The road was closed until Monday evening and diversions were put in place.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact them.
