Cambridgeshire Fire Service cutting £4m

A £4m package of cuts over four years from the Cambridgeshire Fire Service has been agreed.

A meeting of the Cambridgeshire Fire Authority on Thursday backed the cuts, which follow a 12% cut in government grant as part of the spending review.

The savings, which will come in between April 2011 and April 2015, are set to see eight fire engines taken out of service.

No final decision has been made on plans to close Manea fire station.
