Arrest over suspected fall from flats in Cambridge

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was found seriously injured near a block of flats, after she is thought to have fallen from the fifth floor.

A 37-year-old woman was found near the flats at Ferrars Way in Cambridge shortly after midnight.

She suffered multiple injuries and is said to be in a critical condition at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.

The arrested man is in custody at Parkside police station.

Det Insp Martin Brunning, of Cambridgeshire Police, said: "We know that a number of people were awake at the time of this incident and I would urge anyone who has any information to contact police.

"I am also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area earlier that evening who may have heard a disturbance or noticed anything unusual in the Kingsway area.

"This woman has extremely serious injuries and is in a critical condition and it is vital we establish what has happened to her."

Anyone with information is asked to call Cambridgeshire Police.
