Views sought on Cambridgeshire councillors' allowances

A panel formed to advise on Cambridgeshire county councillors' allowances is calling on the public to help shape its decisions.

A consultation started by the Independent Remuneration Panel asks for views on allowances including travel and subsistence rates.

Councillors currently receive £7,610 per year, although those with "special responsibilities" can claim more.

The consultation is open until 27 February.

There will also be a public meeting at Anglia Ruskin University on 27 February to explain the allowance process.
