Woman's body recovered from sea off Newquay

A woman's body has been recovered from the sea off Cornwall.

Passers-by, including an off-duty coastguard, spotted the body near rocks at Pentire Point in Newquay at about midday on Sunday, coastguards said.

Newquay's two lifeboats were scrambled after the discovery and were involved in the recovery.

Coastguards said the body appeared to have been in the water for some time. A post-mortem examination is to be carried out.
