Woman's body found in sea off Falmouth

The body of a woman has been pulled from the sea in Cornwall.

A passerby raised the alarm after spotting the woman in the sea near to rocks at Pendennis Point, Falmouth, on Tuesday evening.

Police were called at about 2000 BST and attempted resuscitation but the woman, whom police described as "middle aged", was declared dead at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
