No charges following police incident in Newquay

A man who was arrested in Cornwall following an incident involving armed police officers has been released without charge.

The 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill as a result of the incident in Newquay.

Police were called to the resort on Sunday afternoon and cordoned off the junction of Cliff Road and Berry Road.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The man has been released with no further action."
