Whale and dolphin activity is being monitored along the south west coastline as part of an annual study.

The Sea Watch Foundation sought volunteers earlier this year to help with its survey in Devon and Cornwall.

The idea is to gather information on the distribution of whales, dolphins and porpoises off the region's coast.

Data is then used to help shape marine conservation policies to protect marine mammals.
