A missing woman is being sought by police after a body was found following a fire at a house in Cornwall.

The blaze, which is described as "suspicious", gutted a house in Vivian Road, Bodmin, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Firefighters discovered a body, which has not yet been identified.

A police spokesman said inquiries are being made about a 43-year-old local woman called Corby Craze who was reported missing overnight.

She is described as having blonde, neck-length hair and was wearing a white, flowing knee-length dress and strappy sandals.

Ms Craze was last seen on Friday evening in Bodmin.

Up to 40 officers are working on the case but have yet to confirm the gender of the victim.

Police are also investigating whether a car fire in Hillside Park, just under a mile from Vivian Road, is linked to the incident.

Anyone who was in the Vivian Road area between midnight and 0315 BST on Saturday has been asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police.
