Injured Spanish fisherman airlifted off the Scillies

An injured fisherman has been airlifted to hospital in Cornwall.

Falmouth Coastguard coordinated the rescue of the Moroccan crewman from the Spanish boat Porto Mar at about 0830 BST.

The vessel was about 125 miles off the Isles of Scilly when the man suffered severe head and facial injuries.

A helicopter from RNAS Culdrose airlifted the semi-conscious patient to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. His condition is not known.
