Boy suffers multiple fractures in Cornwall cliff fall

A teenage boy is being treated for multiple fractures after falling 50ft (15m) down some cliffs in Cornwall.

He slipped while climbing down to fish on the beach at St Agnes on Tuesday afternoon. He landed on a ledge in a ravine, coastguards said.

A coastguard cliff rescue team could not reach him. A rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose winched the boy to safety.

He is being treated at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
