A man has been taken to hospital after fall from cliffs in north Cornwall.
Falmouth Coastguard said the alarm was raised just before midnight when the 44-year-old man fell at least 20ft (6m) at Trevone Bay, near Padstow.
He was rescued from the base of the cliff by the St Merryn coastguard team and ambulance crews.
The man, who was staying at a holiday property in the area, injured his hip in the fall and had possible neck and spinal injuries.
A Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesman said his injuries could have been much more serious if he had not landed on sand, narrowly missing rocks on the beach.
The victim's condition is not known.
