A body found on farmland in Cornwall is believed to be that of a man previously reported missing from the Camelford area, police say.

The skeletal remains were found by members of the public on farmland near Delabole on New Year's Day.

Devon and Cornwall Police said an examination had been carried out but the cause of death was still unknown.

Officers added they were waiting on scientific confirmation before releasing the man's identity.

Members of the group who found the body were shooting on the farmland when the remains were found next to a stream.
