Stranded couple and dogs airlifted from Cornwall beach

A couple and their four dogs have been airlifted to safety after getting stranded on a Cornwall beach.
Rescue teams were called to Whitsand Bay after the couple used their mobile phone to tell coastguards they were cut off by the rising tide at 1620 BST.
A lifeboat was unable to reach them because of breaking surf, so a rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose was sent.
The helicopter landed on the beach and rescued the stranded people and animals safe and well.
