Copper cable stolen from Cornwall building site

Police in Cornwall are investigating the theft of half-a-tonne of copper cable from a closed building site.

The theft is believed to have occurred between 1700 BST on Friday, 27 May and 1430 BST on Wednesday, 2 June at the site in Roche, near St Austell.

The value of the cable, taken from the site on the B3274, was believed to be about £2,500, police said.

Police in St Austell appealed for information from anyone who might have seen suspicious activity in the area.
