Man, 26, sustains head injuries in Newquay cliff fall

A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries after falling from cliffs in Newquay, Cornwall.

The alarm was raised at 04:30 BST when the 26-year-old fell 60ft (18m) at Towan Beach.

Falmouth Coastguard said paramedics, Newquay coastguard rescue team and the Newquay inshore lifeboat were involved in the rescue.

The man, who is thought to have been on holiday, was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

His condition is not known, but Devon and Cornwall Police said his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
