Suspicious fire at Pool Brook Advisory Clinic

A fire which severely damaged a sexual health clinic in Cornwall is being treated as suspicious.

The Brook clinic in Station Road, Pool, was burgled in the early hours of Saturday.

Officers said they believed a fire was deliberately started after a flat-screen computer monitor was stolen.

The clinic, which suffered thousands of pounds' worth of damage, offers free advice and promotes sexual health and education for under-25s.

Hooded top

A police spokesman said the clinic "provides an invaluable service to the local community".

Officers said they wanted to speak to a man who was seen acting suspiciously in the area shortly before the fire.

He was described as being about 5ft 10in (1.8m) tall, of slim build and wearing dark trousers and a grey hooded top.

Anyone with information about the theft or fire is asked to contact police.
