Constantine fire may have started in heating oil tank

A row of terraced houses in Cornwall has been damaged by fire.

At its height, about 100 firefighters tackled the blaze, at Well Lane, Constantine, near Falmouth, which started about 20:00 BST on Sunday.

The fire spread to at least five homes and several people were rescued. Residents had to spend the night with friends and family in the village.

The extent of the damage to the houses is not yet known and the investigation into the fire will continue later.

Fore Street has been closed in both directions between Well Lane and Penbothidno and Devon and Cornwall Police said no buses or heavy goods vehicles will be allowed through the village.
