Cornwall flood alerts as rain sweeps in

Householders in parts of north Cornwall have been warned about possible flooding after heavy rain overnight.

The Environment Agency has issued flood alerts along the north Cornwall coast from Land's End to Bude as well as on the Upper Tamar river.

Firefighters and highways crews have been clearing 3ft (0.9m) deep flood water from the A39 at Bush near Bude.

The Met Office has predicted further heavy rain for Wednesday and has issued a yellow alert for Thursday.

A yellow alert warns people to be aware of heavy rain.
