Armed police stood down after 12-hour Bugle incident

Armed police have been stood down and two men arrested following an overnight incident in a Cornish village.

Armed officers were called to a property on Minorca Lane in Bugle at about 03:20 BST.

It had been reported that threats were made by someone in the property who was believed to have a firearm.

Devon and Cornwall Police said two men, aged 23 and 25, had been taken into custody following the incident and would be questioned.

The force said it wanted to "emphasise" there was no danger to the public and officers were carrying out "high visibility reassurance patrols".
